Dugo Mo, Kinabuhi Ko!

What is Dugo Mo, Kinabuhi Ko ? It is a non-profit undertaking whose main objective is to guide the people in searching for a certain blood-type for their love ones who are in dire need of blood.

Known Cebu institutions such as DYAB-Abante Bisaya of ABS-CBN, Philippine National Red Cross, various concerned government agencies and different public and private hospitals in the city are constantly conducting their regular blood letting activities every other three months.

The response of the public to these various blood letting activities conducted is overwhelming. Rain or shine, concerned citizens trooped to the different designated blood letting sites for them to donate their blood.

Our instituion, Matias H Aznar Memorial College of Medicince, Inc., also wants to participate in this noble undertaking by sharing our talents and resources. So, the school has decided to create a Donors-Database-Server with the sole purpose of storing the donors-data gathered during the blood letting activity. This way the donors masterlisting will be recorded in electronic format.

The Donors-Database-Server is a web-enabled system which can be accessed via internet. whether you wiil be at home, at the office, in internet cafes or in the hospitals, you can directly login to the site for you to browse the list of donors available. The donors' records can be searched with the following categories:

Our institution only hopes that with this process the burden and hardship of looking for a possible blood-donor will be minimized

Why Donate Blood? Blood donation is truly a "gift of life" that a healthy individual can give to others who are sick or injured in the community. In one hour's time, a person can donate one unit of blood that can be separated into four individual components that could help save multiple lives.

From one unit of blood, red blood cells can be extracted for use in trauma or surgical patients. Plasma, the liquid part of blood, is administered to patients with clotting problems. The third component of blood, platelets, clot the blood when cuts or other open wounds occur, and are often used in cancer and transplant patients. Cryoprecipitated anti-hemophilic factor (AHF) is also used for clotting factors

Every three seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion!
20 percent of recipients are children many are cancer patients!
Giving blood is 100 percent safe!
One pint of blood from one donor can save up to three lives!
Its about life.
Donating will not cost you money.
